Default I have come for help! water leak not from heater

Tons of water leaks into passenger side floor when A/C is on. I disabled the heater core thinking that was the problem and now I just have no heater, not much of a problem since I live in florida.

I have fixed a similair problem on a friends truck, we had to replace the entire plastic dash/firewall thing.

IS there another way to fix this common problem or not?

Please help, thanks!

Does it have the tell tale sweet smell of antifreeze or is it clean water? It is possbile that it is the A/C condesnor drain line.

Sounds like the drain holes for the condensor is plugged. You need to get in there and inspect the ductwork for blockages.

ive checked all the known duct work i can find for leaks and stoppage. i eventually even used a high pressure hose and no new water came out and it all came back out the drain line clean as ever.

Well, it comin from somewhere, and its not your coolant. If it was it would smell like coolant. you should be safe to reconnect your heater core. But there seems some definite water tracing is in order. If you pull your carpet back you should be able to trace the waters path by shining a flashlight on the floorboard. The slightly cleaner area fromt he water's travel will appear slightly cleaner and will shine differently under illumination.

i tore the entire seats and carpet out then put the seats back in. mildew smell isnt smothing i can put up with. its coming from behind the plastic dash which i didnt have time to take out in order to search for the leak.

i'm guessing something is cracked.

My '97 was doing the same thing, cleaned out the drain tube, wasn't clogged. Looking from the inside with the carpet pulled back, water was coming down where the plastic that covers the ac/heater stuff curves around the drain tube. On the engine side of the firewall, the drain tube just sticks out, no seal, just a piece of what looked like foam around it. Some of the water was running along the bottom of the tube and getting inside the cab. Sealed it up with silicone, no more water under the carpet. Might be worth checking.
