when go to put the truck in drive or reverse it goes alright when i give it some gas but when let off the gas it just dies out

 

Idle speed motor...definitely my first though when I hear "hesitation off idle". You can pull it out of the throttle body and clean it up with some parts cleaner or carb cleaner. Sometimes they just get dirty....sometimes they go bad.
