305/70/16s will they rub
i have a set of 285s on the way but i was wondering if 305/70/16s will fit without rubbing on my 00 ram,the chassis is stock but i got a real good deal on some 305,any repl will help asap
I have 305/70-16 on my 96 1500 with stock steel rims and 3' lift and they will rub slightly on my control arms when I turn the wheel all the way to the left or right but not enough to bother me hope this helps
Most likely....yes they'll rub. How much, and where at, depends on a couple factors, the most important on a stock truck being wheel offset. I'd use a rim no wider than 8 inch (avoiding the factory rims) and with 4.5 or 4.25 NEGATIVE offset. At 4.5 you'll probably tap the control arms, at 4.25 or less you'll likely get the fender lip.
[sm=bounceybounce.gif]I'm running that size on my '01 with no lift mods and have no problems. My wheels have a 4 1/2" BSM, 24mm offset .... they sticky out.
ok the 285s will be here tomorrow morning, exactly how tall is a 285, an how tall is a 305? they are the sport kings a/t at 105 each, not bad if i might say

Both tires run about 32.8 ish for mudders... A/T's tend to be a tad taller. The big difference is the width and that the actual width not tread width. A 285/75 measures out to about 33x11.50, 305/70 is the metric equal of the old 33x12.50's The difference is in the aspect ratio (width to heigth).
