Default Trans Questions

I got a 97 4x4 that wont take off in 1st gear, and when you put it in first gear manualy it wont move, acts like its in park. I figure i burnt up the clutchs and steels in the the L/R clutch pack. The truck has about 220,000 miles on it, i dont know if the previous owner ever did a tranny/engine/rear end rebuild. Since 1st gear is locked up,and it has alot of miles on it, im goin to go ahead and take it out and go through the whole thing. Was wantin to put some performance clutchs and steels in, and a shift kit. Nothin to hardcore jus a lil tougher. On that note, was wonderin where i might be able to get quality tranny parts for this truck. any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Alot of people like the TransGo kit. I think that is probably what I will go with when I do my shift kit this summer. I don't know about the heavy duty bands and clutches, B&M makes heavy duty rebuild kits thats what I had the tranny shop use that rebuilt the tranny in the 67 Mustang I used to have. I'm not sure if they make them for our trannys though.
