Default no oil pressure

i have a 2001 dodge ram V8 and yesterday while driving my oil pressure droped to none. Theres plenty of oil but just to be safe i changed my oil and used a crankcase cleaner but it still has no pressure. Could it be my oil pump or maybe just a clogged screen? My engine has some sludge in it from neglect in the past

welcome to DF...

put a mechanical guage on it and re-check the pressure. the sensors have a problem over time where they break and oil starts coming out of the top of the sensor. if you pull the connector and there is oil in it, swap it out and then re-check it. common problem, easy fix. it's located on the back of the block near the distributor, points upward towards the hood.

They will also get clogged from neglected oil/sludge and the 1/16" or less hole will loose flow and not read the pressure. When replacing be carefull not to get teflon/thread sealant to close to the end of the threads or might get in hole and happen again.

Hopefully the sender is all thats wrong.........

I do hope you changed your oil after you used the cleaner, that stuff is wicked.

you can also pull your valve cover off and run the motor to see if oil is getting up through the pushrods into the rockers... for sure sighn your pump is still working.. but if you have been driving it and hasnt seized or blew up yet with no oil pressure on the gauge.. tahts also a good sighn that your pump is stilll presurizing the oil..
