Default hello everybody, i'm still on my first week

hello everybody, im still on my first week here at the df. Just want to say that i like the site alot. I have a 98 2500 4x4 5.9 v8 that isnt kicking into od. I searched through every od trans blog on the site and read that it could be anything from a bad tranny to a loose batery cable to a bad tps to a bad od sensor. My big question today is what is the od sensor and were the heck is it. icant find this part in my manual for the life of me. Please help!!!!!!!!

There is no "od sensor".

There is a solenoid, but no "sensor".

It's part of the valve body if I remember right, which is inside the transmission pan.

You may want to check and make sure your OD switch inside the cab is working right before dropping the pan to try the solenoid.
