Default tailgate LED lights

i just installed those 3 LED lights you see on the backs of truck between the tailgate and bumper.. except with dodges you cant.. with the tailgate down it comes way to close to the body and it'll just crush the lights.. so i put them on the very bottom of the tailgate (and no i didnt drill holes into the tailgate to mount them.. i used heavy duty 3M tape).. anyway i have it wired straight into the brake lights so when i turn the marker lights on.. they come on.. but to you electrical guys out there.. is there a way to wire it to the rear brake lights to where they arent so bright but when you hit the brakes they light up brighter?? as of now they only stay at one steady brightness and i was hoping to get them to go along with the brake lights.. also.. it only has one wire coming from it.. the light bar itself is grounded to the body threw the metal its attached too.. sorry its so long but its kinda hard to explain without any pictures hah

i tried.. i spliced into all 6 wires coming from the taillight and checked every single one... i even tried using the trailer wiring harness and checked all them and none work.. my harness is the 4 plugs that are in line.. ones the ground.. the next one over is the marker lights.. and the last 2 are for brakes and turn signals for each taillight.. if i want to i can make them only come on when i hit the brakes but i'd rather have them on all the time and brighten up when i hit them you know?? but i have no idea how to do that

There's only like 2 wires going to thouse brake lites or so, the problem is they'll blink when you turn too [:-]

they have 2 diffrence bulbs.. each bulb has 3 wires going to it.. you need atleast a power and ground.. the 3rd is for brake and blinkers
