Default Eletric Fan Install... no pics...

Whats up guys... since I found this site I have been adding a lot of mods to my truck...

I have no posted any writeups or anything because most of it has been done already... except this...

I decided to go with a 18" used Ford cooling fan. I got off of E-bay for $65 shipped...

Then decided to make things easy and use this to control it....

http://www.spalusa.com

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SPAL-...spagenameZWDVW

It was $75 shipped and made things real easy...

Total cost of my fan was around $130. It has worked great so far but it is getting cool outside around here. The real test will be in the hot summer.

The wiring is very easy with this controller. If you only want to run one temp sensor you have to tap off of the OEM sensor. That was the only part that took a little time (as far as wiring the controller goes). I pulled the upper hose and upper alt bracket to gain access to the wire. Tapped off of it and ran it to the controller. My controller is mounted on top of my underhood fuse box.

You can run two temp sensors... but that defeats the purpose of the controller.

A little... nothing crazy.

I have done a bunch of stuff to my truck and I don't feel much difference... only in the upper RPM range which I barely use anyway.

Cool man... good luck!!

That was the one nice thing about the fan I bought... it fit perfect underneath my stock shroud. I lucked out with that one cause I did not measure anything before ordering...

I see. I figured it would be worth 10-20 horsepower getting rid of that windmill.

Well don't get me wrong... I would def do it again!! I just had high expectations that were not met.

I was really going for more low end and a MPG increase. I have yet to run through a tank of gas so I do not know if it helped the MPG.
