Default New toys showed up today!!

I got my tow mirrors today and my 2200 stall viper series converter!! The mirrors actually turned out to be a PITA to install for some reason. The front bottom studs were kind of bent so I had to straighten them out a little and then there was barely enough stud sticking through to screw the nut on but after messing with them for a few minutes I managed to get them on.

Honestly I am not even for sure. What the stall is, is when the motor and tranny are turning the same speed if I am eplaining that right. What I did was I called up wayne at APS precision told him about my truck what I do with it and what all is done with it and he said go with a 2200.

I am with shott here, I would like an in depth explanation as to what the stall converter does and what type of performance to expect.

Also another thing that I found out is that with a higher stall converter the tranny get hot quicked and can overheat easier. Also Wayne told me that with the 2200 I will get more performance out of the tranny.

read this, it should explain it all to you...

http://www.bankspower.com/Tech_understandstallspeed.cfm

quote from article "In other words, stall speed is the engine RPM at which the torque converter transfers the power of the engine to the transmission."
