46RE VS. 46RH
I ordered up a ATSG manual a couple weeks ago for my 46RE and when I ordered it, it has listed A500, A518, A618, 46RH, 46RE, and 48RH. Anyways the manual came in the mail yesterday and I started reading it and the first thing it says is 42RH(A500)-46RH(A518)-47RH(A618). It doesnt list anything about a 46RE tranny. So my question is this is the RH and the RE put together the same way and stuff like that? Could I use this manual to rebuild my 46RE?
The 46RH and RE are similar, but not the exact same transmissions. There are quite a few things that are different.
Are you sure there isn't a different section for the REs? Or parts in the manual where it says what to do differently on an RE?

the manual might read out for the RH and in certain sections it may say different for the RE.. some manuals do that.. like a haynes will have exceprts and exceptiions for different years/models etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
The valve bodies are different between the RH and RE
and the RE series of transmissions have solenoid and computer controls that the earlier valve body does not have.
At hemitruckclub.com you can download the .pdf files of the Ram Field Service Manuals
which have very good sections on transmission rebuilding.
