Need Advice on my Truck and what i should do
Hey guys, well i didn't get anygood news today, recently i notice that whenever i went over a bump that the whole truck would shake like i had a flat tire but would go away when i hit another one. So me and my dad jacked it up and found that the steering is extremely loose and that the pitman arm is loose aswell as the lowerball joints and wheel bearings would all need replacing. So i'm at a cross roads here. My truck is an 95 1500 clubcab long bed 2wd. The stance is just not right and when we had it jacked up to the stance of a 4x4 it looked really good. Now i thought while i'm underthere i'd mine aswell make it a 4x4 i know it would be easier to just buy one but they are too expensive for me to buy. I've already sunk alot of money into my truck and it gets a little frustrating sumtimes when i don't know what's going to go next. Just replaced the ingintion coil and putting on a new muffler today because the old one completly fell off! it;s got 230,000km on it and i paid $6600 cdn a year ago. i don't mind fixing it but it's getting a bit rediculus now. I've been thinking about trading it in for a midsize or compact truck and srry to say i'm partial to the imports. but i'm not sure how much i could get for mine. The plenum leaks, transmission need to be rebuilt, new front suspension, eats gas, no 4wd in winter. i just don't know what to do it just gets me worried sometime, srry about the venting
yeah i would really consider selling that truck.. way to many problems and headaches to deal with.. plus import cars dont do bad at all in winter time in snow and you'll love paying 20 bucks to fill that thing up!
Well if it is getting too expensive and you can't really afford the truck anymore no one can hate you for that. If it were me I would go ahead and fix the big problems and start saving to get a 4x4 like you really want. My truck is 2wd and it is fine in the winter. I wish I had 4wd so I could play in the snow and stuff but thats going to be my gift to myself after graduating from college.
Mine's a 95 2wd reg cab and I never have problems with it in the winter. I even go to the offroad park and follow the jeeps up the moderate trails cuz I usually carry the gear in the bed of mine. I have thought of swapping in a 4wd setup on mine, but I can't decide if I want to go faster or go higher.
can you guys make any suggestions on an alternate truck, one that i could possibly get for equal trade or not much money? there isn't much around here and everything seemes to be overpriced lol
I would just keep your eyes open. There isn't a whole lot of market for trucks like ours right now but with gas prices going down that is going to bring people out who are looking for a truck. You might consider looking for a 4x4 dakota. One of those lifted a little looks pretty sweet.
