Default 98 1500 higher in the back?

a couple days ago I just realized it looks like my truck is higher up in the back by just a little bit, are they all like that? (98 1500's) Just seemed to notice where there body is lined up with the tire in the back is a bit higher than in the front. What can be done to fix that? expensive?

I have a 95 2wd and it's the same way. You can buy a leveling kit off ebay or a suspension site to level it, but I wouldn't. When you put something in the back of your truck like a four wheeler or wood or something heavy, it levels out because the back is slightly higher. If you get a leveling kit, then put a load in it, it will sag or sit lower than the front, changing the way it handles.

yeah the four wheel drives do sit like that. Its about 1 -2" depending on the sag in your spring. You can buy some 2" coil spacers to bring it up. You should be able to pick up a used pair for about $50 if you can find them. Otherwise ebay has them for a lil over a hundred i believe.

I think the factory set-up for our trucks is 2 inches higher in the back. I bought leveling shackles because I couldn't stand it. My truck is a 2WD though and if it was a 4X4 I would definently go with a leveling kit or a lift kit which would also level it out and make it sit higher and that would be sweet. Anyways just for reference when I tow my 18 foot boat behind my truck the rear doesn't sag, I never haul any big loads in the bed though so I don't know how that would work out.

Hmm you know what I was thinking. If I had these 2" spacers, I bet my 33's wouldn't rub on full wheel lock to the left anymore. Yeah I don't haul anything, cept maybe 2 21" lawnmowers, blower, weedwhacker and some pails, but that doesn't weight that much, dunno, something to think about.

yeah I've been thinking about getting a few inches of lift and 4.10's for the 33's. Don't know how much that would run me, I'm guessing prob $1000-1200 (gears are what like $400-$500 per axle?) Then I'm not sure how the fuel economy will be affected, getting average 12 now.

my old 1500 used to sag hard in the front, and it looked like crap, but my new 2500 sits almost perfectly level

show off :P

and I notice the bottom of your front bumper on the 2500, you don't have that extra piece on the bottom do you, it looks better without it, mines like practically hanging off, I don't like the way it looks to begin with
