Default Hitch reciever missing

I went out running errands in my truck yesterday with no problems. Got home and everything was fine. But then I went to leave a couple hours later and low and behold the reciever to my hitch was gone. Some dumbass went out in the pouring rain to take it off my truck parked in the street outside of my house. I know that I should have had a lock for it but hadn't gotten around to getting one yet. Or I should have taken it off when not in use but I use it alot and its just easier to leave it on. It doesn't really **** me off as much as it agrivates me. Goes to show how stupid people really are. Its a whopping $25 to buy at wal-mart. But then again we keep having homicides around here so I guess the world is just going crazy. Guess I'll be going this week to buy a new reciever with lock this time. Just needed to vent. Anyone else have some dumbass do anything to your rides?

I have never had mine stolen. I have a pretty cool lock for it though, I'll try to take a picture of it later. It is a combination, I think it is handy because you can write down the code and throw it in the glove box just in case. The ones with keys always made me nervous that I would lose the key.

Here is the "poor mans way" to lock your receiver hitch to make it harder to steal. Take a good "zip tie" and pull it as tight as you can on the end of the cotter clip that holds your hitch pin in place. This clamps the pin together so you can't pull it out - and just any petty thief without side cutters isn't going to get it off.....

I had an ex-ladyfriend toss eggs at my truck while I was away for the weekend on my bike. When I came home and saw it, it was too late. They had baked on there all weekend in the heat. THAT pissed me off !!!

I also had some dude who's ladyfriend who was sweet on me smash the front window of my Nova because he was jealous. I wasn't even hooking up with the broad.

I did after the window incident though.

I had some kids that kept egging my truck. They would egg it every Saturday. So my two best friends and I got a 24 pack, put on our BDU's (all ex Army), got our paintball guns and made camp on the roof of the house. At about 2am they drove by to see if anyone was awake. They drove down the street turned around got one egg out the window before all three of us emptyed our hoppers. I have never seen them again and the Sheriff Deputy said fair is fair.
