5.2L won't start
I noticed that it was taking a little longer than normal to start my truck. Today it would not start at all.
It cranks fine, but won't start. I wasn't sure if it was a fuel issue or not. I sprayed some starting fluid into the intake, but no real change. If I pump the gas pedal, it acts as if it wants to kick over, but just sputters. Does this sound like a fuel problem, or ignition?

When the turn the key to on (not start) do you hear the humming noise in the back of the truck? This would be the fuel pump running.
Also on the fuel rail you should see a small cap that screws off. Under the cap looks like the piece on your tire where you put air in. HAving a brain fart and can't remember the name of that thingy. Anyway, push down on the center pin and if gas sprays out you have fuel pressure and your problem isn't there.
If it isn't fuel, you need to start checking for a broken rotor, bad coil wire, bad coil, bad coil connection to the wiring harness. Just start looking into the ignition side.
Hope this helps.

yea sounds to me like the fuel pump went out. do what turkey hunter said. when u turn the key to run you should hear a whining noise coming from the rear. when a vehicle wont start its either no fuel, no air, or no spark. fuel+air+fire= POWER
OK. I definitely hear the fuel pump whine when I turn on the key. I found the nozzle on the fuel rail, when I push pin in a small spurt of gas comes out, it doesn't seem to be under a lot of pressure, but I' not sure if that's normal or not?
The nozzle is a schrader valve. You can have weak fuel pressure and still have a gas spurt. Get a fuel pressure gauge and check the fuel pressure. IIRC the fuel pressure should be about 50 psi. If it is much lower (5 or so psi) I would think that is your problem.
i agree with socha... id check for spark. starting with your coil. I had a problem with my truck starting and i had my brother try to start it at night-time while i looked under the hood. If you have bad wires you can sometimes see the spark arc from the wires to the engine. my problem was a bad coil wire. it was kinda making the wire glow a bluish color and at points you could see it arc to the valve cover.

accell coils have been know to have a problem similar to this...
check your fuel pressure, then look for spark. if you have pressure, then you can pretty much eliminate the pump (volume would be another concern but it would start if there was a volume problem). if no spark, then check the coil, cam sensor & crank sensors.

Using the dielectric grease on both ends of the coil and ignition wires can help prevent fried ends. I also use it on every electrical connection under the hood. Best thing since ice cream.

Kinda sounds like a fuel pump issue to me. Check for spark first though, easiest and cheapest to fix
