Default Front rotors

I'm getting ready to replace the front pads on my 01 Ram 1500 QC 2 WD and since I have 89,000 miles on it and they brakes are pulsating I figure I would replace the rotors at the same time. My question is what is involved in doing this.

Really not much at all. You will need a 3/8 allen head socket to remove the caliper with. I can't remember if your wheel bearings are sealed or not, they aren't on my 99, if yours aren't then now is a good time to inspect/re-pack them with grease. It is a really straight forward job, once you get the caliper off the rotors come off easily. Good Luck and Welcome to the Forum.

Yep, remove the caliper and the rotors come right off. I got a set of cheap ones for $30 ea at NAPA. Easier to replace than to take and get them turned. Make sure your caliper bolts are tight when you put it back together. I had an issue after I did mine, one of the bolts came loose and fell out. Trust me - you don't want this to happen! Use some Lock-Tite or something on the threads and get them tight.

Thanks Silverram99 and Racinfan83 for the info. I wasn't sure if you had to pull the wheel bearings on the newer models like you use to have to do.
