Turbo idea for my 5.2
Nice lookin Beast you have there! Welcome aboard
If you were to go with an STS turbo you would have to move the air filter. Turbo mounts in place of the stock muffler. The intake filter is just ahead of it under the truck also. With as dirty as you get your truck you would want to run a pipe for the filter up into the bed or behind the cab.
I agree with Turbo Bird, keep the psi down on a stock motor. My stock headgaskets started to leak at 7psi on my mild 360
More boost you want to make the more it will cost. Forged internals, exhaust, ignition, fuel, cooling and trans/driveline may/will all need upgrading.

Thanks turbo_bird and RM_Indy... that's what I was wanting to know.
I guess the STS kit does sound like it would work well... I was concerned about it's placement... but putting the air filter into the bed would probably be a good idea.
Thanks for the input... I will work on the internals first when the funds come available. Then again... that makes me wonder if I should build a 360 to swap in... I'm going to need an NV4500 to handle any additional power anyhow...
My truck build will never end!
I have some repairs to make tomorrow, then some wheelin on Saturday... have a control arm to fix, relocate the upper arms and shackle flip sometime. The control arm repair is the immediately needed one.
