Default 1999 ram electrial problem (interior lights)

I have a 1999 Ram 1500 slt the interior lights stay on when the doors are closed and do not go out when locked with the remote. dealer rep thinks it may be eather the body computer or timer. 600$ or 300$ deal, any ideas for fix or aftermarket parts would be appreciated.

Check the little plunger switches on each door. One of them may be broken.

Good luck.

they just don't go out period? Because mine stay of for a little while, and even don't go out with locked, but eventually shut off.

found problem it was a bad door switch after all. 8$ to replace when you put new door switch in it will self adjust to the door just plug in and close the door if

you have to replace one you will see what i mean. glad i didn't put out the 600.00 the dealer wanted.

Default 99 Ram interior lights do not turn off

I have a 99 Ram with the same problem. Did you have to take the switches out to check them or could you disconnect them to diagnose the problem?
I unplugged each of the door switches to see if the lights would shut off when I locked the truck and nothing happened.
I am hoping it is not the timer or computer.
