Default brake problems

Hello boys. Looking to see if anyone has any ideas on where to start the diag on my 99 1500 2wd w/ 360. I did a search and wasnt able to come up with a problem that was like mine. My parking brake lamp and my ABS lamp come on together with my truck (like what i read in my search)...but mine are intermitent. I can go out to my truck and start it 10 times, a hand full of times the lights will come on and a handful of time the lights wont. When they are off they do not come on when i hit the brakes...so an ABS stop....vary speeds. But i can shut the truck off and restart it and they turn on with the instrument panel checks and not go off.

Anyone have anyideas? im somewhat sure they dont need to be bleed causei have great pedal feel, but then again my stopping distances are kinda long....kinda like a have a trailer behind me pushing my when im all the way on the brakes pedal.

Any help or direction would be a huge help.

Thx
Dan

Try this link: https://dodgeforum.com/m_525815/tm.htm
Also - there is more info if you go to "search" put "speed sensor" in the search box, and select "2 nd gen" in the forum box on the right.
If you didn't know to look for "speed sensor" it might be hard to find this stuff - so I am not raggin on you for not using the search button [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

cool ill check the link out and yes i did use the search button, but i searched "ABS light" and "parking brake light" and did not search "speed sensor". Not raging you but i said i did a search. But thanks for the help, ill check the link out as soon as i find a new dash for my truck cause closing the hood just made a huge chunk that had cracked fall down...so now i m left with a gaudy 12" x 8" hole in my dash.

Damn. That sucks. I have a coworker who had the same problem as you - the speed sensor is about $45 and you have to get it at the dealer.
The search comments were made in jest - we have had a lot of issues with that lately....[sm=smiley2.gif]

i had 2 brake lights go on on my dasha week ago. but i have no idea if it was brakes and abs or parking brake and abs or what have you as my lights are no longer marked. i just get an orange glow through some black electrical tape

but my stopping distances sucked ***. my brake fluid looked good, and i haad a brake job done just a few months ago.

ruens out i had a slow leak on the drivers side rear brake line. the hard line. i thought it was a bad cylinder. i was wrong. but my pedal did feel great (at first) and the fluid was up. once the leak got worse though, it was an easy thing to notice.

check for a leak P
