Default 1996 Trans

I have a 1996 Dodge Ram with an automatic transmission and 318 motor. It has started to rev very high before shifting up. It will go to about 4,000 RPM then shift. Any ideas what I might try to recitify this problem? Will adjusting the bands help or is there a modulator valve on this tranny?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

In addition the info supplied I forgot to mention that it gets frequent trans fluid and filter changes and the fluid always looks good, not burnt or dark at all.

Thanks

You might do a search for TV cable adjustment, sounds to me like that is your problem. When I replaced mine I didn't do it right and my truck shifted way too late, it was neat but it can cause transmission failure.
