Default Transmission question.

I originally posted this in the wrong place.

Ok, here is my problem. I have a 2001 Ram 1500. It is 2wd with a 5 speed manual. I NEED to add some transmission oil but cannot figure out what size tool I need to take out the drain plug. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

I am alos looking to put some taller tires on my truck. It is still stock hight with no suspension work. What size tires can I go to before I have to start worring about rubbing and such?

Thanks in advance for the help. Great forum!

I know on the diesels it is a 3/8 drive square, so just get a ratchet with a short extension and you are good to go. Unfortunately I'm not sure on your truck, if there are no new answers here tommorow that are more definite I'll get on AllData and look it up.

I even went to the dealership and they coulden't tell me. It looks like an allen bit, but big. 1 1/2 maybe 2 inches and it is inset.
