new stereo
just got this baby installed http://mobile.jvc.com/product.jsp?mo...thId=54&page=1 now i need some input on some good speakers ?
My dad has a 2000 dakota with the infinity system. One of the infinity door speakers popped, so we took all of them out and got some Lightning Audio's from wal-mart and it was 10 times better than the factory infinity's.

what are you planning on putting in your truck and are you going to amp your speakers? Do you want subs, mids or highs?

a few years ago i had a 98 gmc jimmy. i had 4.25" memphis door speakers in there. they were incredible. they had detachable tweeters that i relocated on the dashboard. i think they might have been a little pricey but worth every cent.
i dont want to sound like a dick junkman but dont buy audio from wally world. its all crap.
my system in the jimmy pushed 149 Db and had incredible sound quality. i had to amp those speakers so you could hear them over my 4 - 12" JL Audio's.

I usually don't either, but it was cheap and since you can buy the same sony, pioneer, kenwood, and lightning audio there as you can at any stereo store, we just got them there. Memphis is good as far as sound quality, but overpriced and slightly overrated. In our competition cars, we had MB Quart mid's and high's, which are amazing. I had them in my old civic too. We used MA Audio subs. 4 15 inch MA XL's to be exact. I'd go with mb quart for replacement speakers. They're affordable and great quality.

i hated that gmc jimmy soo much. i took it to the dealership to get an oil change, (it was under warranty still, so they did the oil change) i was walking around the lot and looked at a 2001 ram (my truck now). the salesman walked up to me and asked if he could help me, i said yeah... help me put my speaker box in the bed of this truck and fill out the paperwork for me.
make a long story short, i went to get an oil change and came home with a Dodge!!

I have polk audio speakers and they are awesome, however they lack in bass. They are mostly mids and highs.
As for your sub box, on my truck i removed the plastic housing under the rear seat and placed just normal truck boxes there. it is a tight fit, but it works without distortion
