Default 1994 Dodge Ram... Ton of supercharging questions?

Back ground info..

1994 Dodge Ram 5.9 auto 3:54 gears with 33" tires

OK my dodge ram is bein destroyed on by every 4x4 truck in my area. So ive modded it.

Mopar performance pcm, 52mm Fast tb, flowtech headers, 3" exhaust, MSD 6al ,blaster 2 coil, underdrive pulley,Autolite 23 plugs and KN intake.

Its plain slow.... 16.3 in the quarter at 83 mph? First question is the normal im also gettin a 11.9 mpg in the city no high way.

2nd Question i resently picked up a Vortech Supercharged kit S v-1 for the ram with 12:1 FMU and Boost timing control unit what modification do i need to run this safely?

What plugs and gap?
Should i put rockers to move the air threw faster?
Should i mod the intake? Like shave down the keg or go with a m1?
How do i mod my stock PCM to account for boost?
What size injector would u recommend with 6 psi?

my screen name is MonteSSgtp on AOL... i definetly need some guidance...

Thanx in advanced

I understand that you have already bought the supercharger kit but I would suggest taller gears. 3.54's just aren't going to be enough for 33 inch tires. Get atleast 3.92's but 4.10's would be better. As far as your supercharger questions, PM RM_Indy. He has an Indy Ram that he ran a supercharger on and he is very knowledgeable about performance stuff.

Reason i have lashed out for gears yet...is cuz my rear is shortly on its way out lol...so when it goes ill cross over that bridge with a posi and ring and pinion.

Damn, I wish I had money to get a supercharger, but to race people.

First off welcome aboard
Ets are about right as is the mileage. My Indy (r/c s/b 4x2 5.9/3.55s) ran 16.2 bone stock back in 96.
Those 33s with 3.55s gives a final of about 3.25 which is not helping.

Plugs - Do not use platinum plugs. Best to go with copper, one range colder like your Autolite 3923s. NA with full ignition they should be gapped at .045 so you will need to reduce them back to stock .035 for low boost or .030 if you overdrive the blower for more boost.
Roller rockers - if your running a stock cam they will help if you go 1.7s. Adding 1.7rr is like increasing duration by about 3degrees & .025 more lift with a stock cam.
Intake manifold - 4x4, I would stick with the beerbarrel and add a Hughes plenum kit. M1 intake manifold is intended for hi rpm use and will raise the powerband. M1 without a cam & torque convertor to match can cost performance instead of increasing it. Could cut the runners down but definetely do the Hughes kit. Same time I would replace the head gaskets. If they are original they wont last long chances are. Felpro or Cometics is what most use. Keep the boost 8psi or below with the Felpro's.
PCM, will be fine, as long as you pull timing from it with the BTM . BTM like your FMU is boost referenced (hooks to vacuum ports on intake mani) You should probably pull about 1.5-2.5degrees of timing per lb of boost. You can add the MP PCM but will have to pull more timing when in boost. 2.0-3.0 degrees per lb.
Injectors - They will be fine as long as the FMU/inline pump is working correctly. The FMU like the BTM is boost referenced. As the fmu detects boost from the intake manifold it will start to ramp up fuel pressure. I do not think the Vortech FMU is tuneable or is mechanically tuned. Perfer the Aeromotive FMU

If you run boost, best to have 3gauges or more. Boost (mech/cheap), fuel pressure (electric semi cheap) and air to fuel ratio with wide band o2 (not cheap).
Without gauges you should take it to a dyno right after install to make sure the air to fuel ratio is safe before you go hammering it. Go lean under boost and it could cost the motor.
Underdirve pulleys will reduce boost by 20-25% depending on the manufacturer. Probably make about 4.5psi max unless you reduce the blower pulley diameter or switch to stock crank pulley.

Hope this helps, if you have any other questions feel free to ask

Indy thanx for all the great info... seem so far i can follow the same base lines of my supercharged grand prix with just other minor things that are diffrent.

FIRST, I wanna be able to tune my fuel trims.. is this possible? Piggyback , prom burner ANYHING?

What FMU do u recommend for a 6 psi system? Are all aeromotive adjustable or do come inta 13:1 to 10:1 etc ratio? Also were can i purchase this? or what ratio for fmu do u recommend?

What should my fuel pressure be stock? Between 43-45 psi with 17 hg of vacuum ?

Would putting a m1 severely hurt my performance if persay i allready purchased one do eliminate that valley gasket problem?

What 1.7rr do u recommend; HS, crowler, COMP, or MP? Or Is price the only issue between the few.

What other mods would you suggest on this engine to help boost performance with out using more boost i'd rather have a fast NA platform with the assisstance of boost like my grand prix so i dont have devasting results. I mean i may be expecting to much but i wouldent mind a high 13's Dodge Ram.

I really would like to keep my gears the same even though i know that would be a great performance increase however i like the low rpm crusing.
