Well I can tell you that none of this but adjusting the tranny bands will cure it I had a dodge dakota that done it and I replaced the vehicle speed sensor that fixed the shift problem from drive to low gears and low gears to high gears but as far as the rpm rev it is/ or should be from the tranny bands. Even changed the tps new plugs and wires and new air filter and bands being adjusted helped for a little while and then I just gave up until I totaled it out and didn't have to worry about it but Dodge has always had problems with their tranny's hope this helps.

mikenwv which wire are you talking about the tps. if your talking about the tps looking at the motor its on the right side of the throttle body. just a simple snap on and plug the wire harness back in and the it. should take about 10 min's for the job. oh you have to reset the computer.

i already replaced my TPS which didnt fix it. I was wondering about the wire he was talking about internal to the transmission
