Default How much weight are you loading for winter driving?

I was thinking it would be wise to either get some large sand bags or kitty litter for traction weight for our winter season. The question is- how many pounds should I use?

I usually put between 300-500 lbs, depending on how many sand bags I feel like tossing in. The more I put, the better the results usually are.

How much weight are you loading for winter driving?

NONE!

I have about 500lbs of tools, etc in my toolbox........

But - if you have 4x4 - I wouldn't add very much weight at all, maybe a couple bags of sand. The more weight you have in the back pushing you - the longer it takes to stop.......You can GO with no problem in 4hi - but people forget that 4hi doesn't help you to STOP any better....

I am with Racinfan on this one...
I don't add any weight. I paid for 4 wheel drive, may as well use it, thats what it is for.

I'm with jarhead. I wouldn't put more than 400 pounds in.
