tmr = torque management request. there is a wire that can be switched to prevent the torque management from kicking in.

Ok, it took me long enough but I finally got around to hooking up that PTO wire. I can't say for sure whether or not it turned off the Torque Managment function but I know that it will shift harder and it lets the motor rev over 2 grand with the brakes held. So if you want to be able to do better power brakes I would reccomend it but do this at your own risk because I have no idea what the long term effects might be. Eventually I am going to wire in a switch so I can turn it on or off but I havent got around to it yet.

Heres how you do it: Look under the hood, there should be a conduit running right below the cowl, it will be easy to find, it runs from one side of the engine to the other. On my truck (1999 model) the wire was orange and was marked with a tag that read PTO. I just took a wire from the power distribution center under the hood and installed a connector on it, installed a connector on the PTO wire and hooked it up.

Anyways have fun with it and if you have any questions PM me.

If it removed TM, you would know it. I had mine removed via my PCM flash, and it makes an amazing difference.

ill try that after the new trans...i barely trust 177k tranny for the track a few times a year, let alone hard shifting all day.

that wire you are messing with is to power an aftermarket pto on diesel pickups it does absolutely nothing on our gasser trucks. I spent an hour and a half reserching this with techs and chryslers dealer connect

Thanks for the time you spent looking into this. I was thinking about giving it a try, now I can save myself a few hours of frustration trying to find that wire. I started looking and quit. Any other tips on useful mods like this are appreciated.

Ya, only the 241HD transfer case has the PTO. If you have any of the 231 cases, or even the 241D, you don't even have a PTO at all for this to be connected to.

Well I know I can rev the motor over 2 grand, in gear, with the brakes held when the wire is hooked to a 12 volts and I cannot when it is disconnected. Believe it or not. Also, I'm looking in the 2001 service manual and it clearly states that when the PTO wire is hooked to a 12 V source that the PCM gets a signal for the PTO being in use and some OBDII functions would be temporarily shut down. Page 14-48(orpage 1535 of 2889 in my Adobe file), in the Gasoline engine section, so that leads me to believe that it works in all trucks not just diesels.

Silver_Dodge, I believe the reason that you feel more of a difference is that you are way ahead of me on mods. I am sure you are pushing alot more power than I am right now because my modifications are very basic.

Anyway I just put it out there for everyone, it worked for me and I thought it was pretty cool.

yes, i also saw that it is in the gasoline section and not in the diesel......confusing.......

here, for those without the manual

FUEL INJECTION – GASOLINE

PTO SWITCH

DESCRIPTION
This Powertrain Control Module (PCM) input is
used only on models equipped with aftermarket
Power Take Off (PTO) units.

OPERATION
The input is used only to tell the PCM that the
PTO has been engaged. The PCM will disable (temporarily
shut down) certain OBD II diagnostic trouble
codes when the PTO is engaged.
When the aftermarket PTO switch has been
engaged, a 12V + signal is sent through circuit G113
to PCM pin A13. The PCM will then sense and determine
that the PTO has been activated.
