Default DynoMax exhaust ?

Ive got a 2001 Ram 5.2ltr. that I was thinking of installing a DynoMax exhaust. I ran DynoMax in my previous truck, a 1994 Dakota. I was very happy with the sound and performance i got out of it. Plus, because I am in MA., they are very strict about being too loud, so it was a happy medium. Im hoping someone else runs this exhaust in their truck similar to mine and let me know what they think. Hows the sound? Is it too loud? Not loud enough. Is there another brand of exhaust systems I should be looking at. Thanks in advance.

Cant help you with dynomax but check into flowmaster as they have some choices with the sound level , From 40 series (loud) to 70 series ( tad louder then stock).. Here the website http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/mufflers.html And here a sound clip of my 3 inch I/O single exhaust with a 3.5 inch tip , This has the flowmaster 40 series delta http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7plAM-c16ag

wow lol my 40 delta flow sounds no where near as awesome as that video clip, altough I have a 5.9 with dual outlets, I wouldn't think it would be that much different. goes to show you they all sound different.

I am running the Flowmaster 50 series on my truck. Much like the soup I am also in Mass. I've never had a problem getting a sticker or being harassed by the cops.

From what I have heard Magnaflow makes a great exhaust also. I have magnaflow cats on my truck and so far, so good!

I used to have a dynomaxx on my truck. It sounded good. I never hated it but then my friends all gutted thier cats and took off their mufflers, so of course I wanted to do the same. So right now im running headers out, it does get loud, but not to the point where im going to go insanse. I am 19 so I can handle the noise but it does turn heads. However it's a big 8cyl so it doesn't sound like crap. VERY aggressive. The dynomax sounded great at high rpm. too quiet for me at idle

I am up in Dracut (next to lowell). If you want semi loud with a nice tone I'd go with the Flowmaster personally.

I've got an '01 regular cab, short bed, 5.2L. What model 50 series flowmaster should I get to just weld in? C/C or offset? 2.5" or 3"?
