Default Another dumb question from rookie...

Alright- this is pretty bad, but it has been a while. I did my wires today. The box says right on it for Dodge trucks 8 cylinder- comes with 10 wires. But...I used 8 for my plugs to the cap, and 1 to my coil. What the heck is wire 10 for???

The wires I got from NAPA a while back had 10 also. I would just hold on to it. I ended up tearing one of mine up because I got in a hurry when I was changing the plugs once, so it actually came in handy. The only thing I can imagine is that they are just so generic that they throw and extra wire in there to make it work for more vehicles.

Yeah, there's probably an extra coil wire for some models that have the coil a longer distance from the distributor.

My Mopar Performance wires came with 10 wires too, 8 cylinder wires, and 2 coil wires. Only difference I could tell between the coil wires was their length, and the end (one was a straight end and one was a 90 degree end). I just used the one that looked like the stock wire I took off the coil.

the extra one is in case you have a different coil on there... if you look at it I'll bet it would not work on any cap-plug connection or cap-coil connection currently on your truck.
