quick question
Im going to lift my truck 5" and put 35's on it. I currently have 3.55 front and rear gear ratio, and will eventually be going to 4.10's. My question is, would I be fine driving 35 miles both ways to work on the highway with 35's and 3.55's, or will that do any damage to my truck?
i dont think itll do any damage persay.. i would keep it out of OD unless your 80+mph ... im running 35's with my 4.10's now and its a bit guttless in OD anywhere.be it highway or city.. especially city.. 35's on stock axles.. wouldnt hurt to run 4.56's (atleast that what the "experts" say is suggested for 35's on stock axles).. keep your tranny, motor and final drive a weee bit happier..
You won't break anything. My frineds running 35's with 3.09's on a Dana 30... He did break an inner shaft, but that was while wheeling. 10 minute trail fix.
Hes gonna swap a D44 in so thats why he hasn't regeared, and yes we constantly give him crap from for it.
I'd still go with 4.56's since your already gonna buck up for the gears.

Ill have to look into the 4.56 or 4.88's then, I drive 35 miles both ways to work 5 days a week. But itll be a while before I will be able to afford to get the gears in.
been meanin to ask yall- is there anything between 4.10 and 4.56 for the 9.25?

I wish. 4.27 is what the next ratio should be, but to my knowledge, no one makes it for the 9.25. I think the D44 has it because I know of Jeeps with 44's and 4.27.
The 4.10s put me back to about what stock felt like, maybe a tad better. But 4.27 would be perfect for better performance with 33" tires in my opinion.

it wouldnt hurt anything to have 4.10s and 35s i had that combo for a little over a year and now got 37s and 4.10s but putting my 4.88s in next weekend
i could spin my 35s with my 4.10 gears
