Default Running wires

Anyone run wires out the cab using a method other then through the firewall? When I need to run wires out of the cab, I usually use the grommets in the firewall that are near the steering wheel shaft. They work perfect for that kind of thing. That route is too far for my current project though. I almost need to go out the floor, but have not found any good exisitng opening to run wires out that way (don't want to drill either). I could lengthen the wire, and go out the firewall, but wanted to keep the wire length to a minimum. Any ideas?

I confirmed with the maker of the gauge I am installing that adding wire will not affect the operation of the gauge or the sensor I am hooked to. So, I am just going to add the length I need, and go out the gromment I usually use.

Thanks anyway all.
