gauges...
i changed the bulbs to blue, but it looks like this lame turquoise color. i pulled the gauges out of the truck and i heard if u wet sand the film behind them it will get rid of that ugly tint... how do i get gauges off from here or at least the plastic piece they are glued to?

with the key on, but not running, can you not just put them back on at the 0 position ?
if not, i'd remove the clear plastic cover, and while driving at normal temperatures, set them to where i 'remembered' them being. not high tech, but would probably get close.
another thing to know, you can press and hold in the odometer trip button and turn the key to on, and continue to hold the trip button in until you see CHEK in the odometer. then release the trip button and it will do a self test, and at the end, it runs the gauges through a 1/4, 1/2, full setting. its not real exact, and each gauge varies in what it does, but its entertaining anyway.

how does this self test work? what do you mean hold until i see CHEK in the odometer? i think i got them close by hand jsut now but the gas gauge doesnt seem to be working at all... it doesnt go all the way to the left when the truck is off like the others do...
oops, sorry. the gauge self test is on the newer models with the electronic odometer. yours if older and i didn't look at the picture.
for gas gauge, you could fill it up and then set the needle to your normal full mark.
