find out if you had a 5.9L magnum in a 97? or are they all magnums. was looking at this website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Ram#Engines_2 and from what i could tell, the engines are jus magnums. i know i can probably look the vin number up but i do not know where to look it up at....

 

They are all Magnums from 94-01. I think maybe even earlier then '94 in some of the first gen Rams.

Those heads for sale would work then? Is there a difference in the combustion chamber on a 5.2 and 5.9head? or are they both the same CC's???

 

5.2L = 318ci
5.9L = 360ci

I don't see how these heads could fit both, I think the person that listed them either A) doens't know theres a diffrence, or B) is just trying to pawn them off to somebody knowingly that they won't work.

oops forgot to mention... look on the block above the starter. the motor size is stamped on the block.
