Default Which Chip Should I Go With?

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 5.9L 4x4.
I just bought it used with 81,000 miles on it.

I wanted to get feedback, thoughts, concerns on which brand most of you all prefer on computer chips.
The 3 I have looked into are: Hypertech (50006), Superchip and JET (phase 1). Which is the best? Which offers the most for the money? anything you got i am all ears!

Other upgrades I will have done are:
AirRaid intake with AirRaid Throttle Body Spacer
Magnaflow Exhaust (single in-dual out)

We just installed the hypertech about two weeks ago and it made a night and day difference in our 99 5.9. BUT we did have deathflash.
defenatly worth the 300 we spent.

ive got a superchip works good i belive the hypertech and superchip are fairley compareable as in not too much diffrence in prefformance...from what i hear jet is crap most pepole here tend to run hypertech...there a little bit cheaper, but i got my superchip cheaper than the hypertech, thats why i got it. id say go for hypertech or superchip, whitch ever you get a better price on

cant believe no ones jumped on this yet...... just want you to know, most people on here swear AGAINST tb spacers. search for a post by theburningrom and check out the link in his profile, if its still in there. its an article about why tb spacers dont work on our engines.

good luck with the chip/programmer.

It really depends on what your expectations are. If you are looking for simple plug in performance than it will fit the bill.

However, there are other options out there. One for example would be a B&G Flash (http://www.bgchrysler.com/Service/Hi...b_g_flash.html). They are able to take a lot of parameters specific to your truck and give you a better flash than what Hypertech can offer. This would be a better option if you had performance mods already done to your truck.

If its all stock then the Hypertech is not the worst option. The Jet chips are as ineffective as they get and not worth the money. I have installed them on trucks in the past against my will. They come back a couple days later and say they didnt notice a bit of difference.

For the $300 that the programmer would cost I would put up the additional $150 and get the B&G Flash. That $300 can be better spent elsewhere. Consider a set of 1.7 rockers for about $300. You will get more out of those rockers than you will that Hypertech!

I have a friend that has run Hypertech and Superchips...I admit that they were on Chevy's, but he said that the only way he noticed a diffence with the Hypertech is when he was towing which is only about 1% of the time. He said that with the Superchip that he ran, he noticed an imediate diffence in every aspect of drivability. I'm pretty sure that he was running autos, which means he would have been getting more performance than those who install them on manuals, but he said that he loved the Superchip setup.

All Great Feedback! Thanks a lot. I was leaning towards Superchip and Hypertech already. Seen how cheap JET looks.
I had no idea about TB spacer. I will have to look more into what the drawbacks of the TB Spacer. Will think twice about installing.

If you want a hard working CHiP, I'd go with Baker.

If you want a CHiP that doesn't work well, I'd go with Poncherello.
