I actually put an Edelbrock lid on mine. It fit better and looks better. I happened to have an extra however - kinda expensive to do that if you don't have one already......

Just ordered my Mopar performance air cleaner! Can't wait until it comes.
Next step is to open up the Exhaust.
Thanks for the idea guys.

How do you hook up the PCV hose?

You don't touch the PCV.

Mopar aircleaner arrived today, that thing is sharp. 80.00shipped from dealer here in Ohio, now I will have to see what all the hype is about for myself. Not gonna get rid of my other one quite yet, still curious to see summer performance.

I went ahead and ordered the Mopar a/c as well. I currently have the 1221 by Edelbrock and recently installed with the 3/4" riser. Snug fit so went with 1/2" riser. Much better top and bottom clearance and didn't have to remove pesky firewall screw. I have the 2001 Quad Cab 5.9 L, long bed.

Just put mine in!!! It looks awesome, but I am having trouble getting the grommet back in the valve cover for the push in breather. Any tips?
Thanks

Put mine in about 2 weeks ago. Looks and performs great. Ordered part number SUM-239421 from Summit. 14 x 2 with 3/4" rise. No clearance issues with the mysterious bolt. Just slid right in. I also have installed NAPA 180 T Stat (the was fun)

Below I have gas mileage data from these installs. These numbers were calculated at the pump.

Prior to this I was avg. 11.6 mpg per tank. I am now avg,. 13.2 mpg. Filled up last night and calculated this at the pump.I dont trust the overhead console. It listed me at 13.6 avg.

IMO, for a $40 cost well worth it.
