sputting problems
i just bought a 96 dodge 1500 so im all new to it. it has many issues but i still love it. the main thing im writing this for is..... is that i just got anothing issue with. it was driving very good the other day and i parked it for a couple of days(cant afford the gas on it) and last night i got in it and did some arrends... thats when i noticed it doesnt have any power. i didnt think anything of it then. i got in it this morning to go to work and got on the freeway and couldnt go any fast then 40mph. thats when it started to sputter and shake. when i TRY to get going it sounds like crap and sounds like i have 4 barrels on it kicked in. i was just wondering what happened to it. please help any input will help
clogged fuel filter. water in gas. bad plug, wire, cap, water in cap, crossed wires. various sensors. stopped up catalytic converter, crushed exhaust.
vandalism ? when i was in high school we thought it was real funny to cross a couple of plug wires, or just pull one or two off. pouring water in their gas was entertaining too. sorry, it was a rough crowd.
is your check engine light on ?
most discount auto parts (autozone) will read your codes for free, just don't take any free advise from them. they like to sell unnecessary o2 sensors.
does it crank and idle smooth and then sputter at higher speed ?

i changed the wires, sparkplugs, rotor and cap last night and it got worse. the check engine light came on too. i think it might be bad gas. i put 20$ in from a local 76 and thats when it started
