Default Just ordered my Fastman!

Well guys I finally ordered the last piece to my motor upgrade. A 52mm throttle body for my 360. I spoke with Hughes and KRC prior who both wanted me to buy the billet throttle bodies which cost $400+. On top of that they were not very helpful. All they could say was if you want that motor to perform you must have this throttle body. This was after telling them this is not a high performance application. It's a 4x4 that I use for various things, none of which involve the 1/4 mile!

I decided to try Dan this morning to see if he was back in the shop and sure enough he was there. No pressure, very knowledgeable and now I have my order in!

I would highly recommend him over the others mentioned here!!!

I have the 50mm on my 5.2L and believe it, along with cutting the intake runners, has made a tremendous impact on my truck's performance. You will be quite pleased when you open the box. That thing is a work of art. You're probably going to get a woody the first time you romp on the pedal with that Fastman under the hood.

Gary, sounds like your pretty hooked on the intake mod! glad to hear it. a bit of a hassle getting it done but worth the effort.

Josh, the fastman 52mm is the best choice for your 4x4... had one on my 2000 QC 4x4 and loved it (also a 5.9 motor).

Heh actually I just sent an email to Dan last night (unaware he was back). I told him I use my truck as a daily driver, no towing, never going above ~2500 RPM unless I'm in a good mood. He told me the 50mm would probably be better for me, better low end pull he said. Anyone else with a 360 get a 50mm instead of a 52mm? Could also be just because I have 285's with stock 3.55 gears. In the future I'm prob gunna downsize to 265's, still wondering whether the 50 will be the good choice, I'll ask him along with you guys

I have a 50mm throttle body from Dan and love it. Great performance gain down low as well in the mid range. Opened up my truck. If you decide to purchase it, you definitely will not be disappointed. Great mod for our 360's. I also bought the 50mm for towing.

Yeah I'm just curious because I don't tow. I'm wondering if I should just get the 52mm because eventually I will be back to stock tires and gears and when I want to get bigger tires in the future I will get bigger gears (lower gears?) like 4.10 or so. I mean sure the 50 is probably best for me now because its sluggish with 285s and 3.55s, but trying to think ahead.

I've got a question about the fastman and k&n fipk. About that stud you have to loc tite into the TB, what do we do about that, try and take it out and put it in the fastman or get another one? Would seem hard to take it out after loc tite'ing it in.

the stud that comes with the TB from the fastman has an allen head on it IIRC, dab of med strength loctite and screw it in by hand, then snug it in with the allen wrench. look on the end of the stud and you'll see what I mean. I would take the old stud out of the original TB and toss it in the tool box in case you want to go back to a stock intake setup for some reason.

I'm not sure if we are talkin about the same thing. For the K&N FIPK they give you that stud to loc tite into the TB to screw the air tube down. Fastman gives you another stud for it?
