Default Speaker sizes

I have a '99 quad cab. I was looking online and the front sizes are listed as 5.25". I was in BestBuy the other day and decided to go by the car audio and looked in their system, and it lists the front speakers as 6x9". So, um.. what are the sizes for the front and rear doors?.. As far as the fronts, I have the tweeters in the A pillars, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

I have 6x9 in the front just like everyone else, but I did buy some polks that were too deep and had to take them back. They were hitting on the tracks for the window. I got some Eclipse that were a bit shallower, and they worked out great.

You oughtta think about a set of 5 1/4"s in the rear. They're there to add "fill" so they don't play loud when balanced correctly. It's subtle, but you'll definitely hear the difference.

I have front/rear aftermarket speakers in my truck with front tweaters. 6X9s fit like a glove in the front doors but the tweeters have a addon on the speakers that you have to unscrew and somehow attach to the new speakers (I used duct tape..lol). I myself couldnt figure out how to remove the bulky box from the tweeters w/o cutting the wire. Otherwise my '99 required dodge wireing harnesses for the rear doors even tho crutchfield.com stated factory replacement with no special installation equipment.

Also if you wanna go all out you can always add a amp for all the speakers. buddy of mine has similar ram as mine amped his speakers w/o sub, sounds awesome, lots of bass from the 6x9's

i hate music coming from the rear ,all i want is the sound of bass coming from the subs, the 5.25's will be useless to me,thats the way ive always been
