Same things you would look at with any used truck. Nothing really stands out as a 'common' problem with them. What year truck are you looking at?

9-10 when everything is hooked up.... unhooked my smog pump for a while was getting about 15-16 seemed to get better mpg faster i was going once saw 20 going down the freeway and it held at 20 for the whole 60 mile trip but got 16 the whole way back... strange truck

I've got a 95 2500 2wheel drive 8.0 I love this truck its got 227000 mile on it I get about 15 empty or loaded with fire wood pulling a pontoon boat or my 24 ft camper as long as it grabs traction it will pull it I also have that pesky upshift problem when its cold I was told the lockup was out in the tourqe converter is there any truth to this before I pull this beastly trans

13-15 mpg unless the temps are in the teens or lower. I suspect the extra time it takes to get everything up to temp is the reason for that.

Something wrong there. Mine is lifted way TF up with 37/12.5/16.5 Military MT on it. And usually some weight in the back. And I can't keep traction at all if I get into it. Gotta watch my take offs. Especially turning or I'm leaving marks for sure
