Transfer case shifter moving?
I have a 99' 1500 Ram with the 5.9 4x4. When im driving, if i give the truck gas, the shifter for the transfer case shifts back about .5" - .75". I don't think its always done this, but was wondering what it might be. Transmission mount(s) possibly shot? Any ideas? Thanks guys!
i think that its normal for it to do that .i remember that mine used to do it. dont know if it still does but i have also changed my tranny mount recently. to check it put a jack under it and put a little bit of lift on it, look for seperation. i knew that mine was gone because of a loud knock coming from under the cab when i floored it from a stop.
mine does.. i dont think its the tranny itself moving.. its the inside the transfer case.. when you give it gas it puts pressure on it making it move.. if it was the tranny mounts the shifter would move side to side with the movement of the engine.. not front to back
Yea. I didn't hear any noises from it, but figured i'd ask around. Its one of those things that i think i just have never noticed before, and wanted to make sure it was supposed to do that. I thank ya'll though!
