Coolant purge
My truck is overheating, and im 99% sure the culperate is air in the system resulting from a small leak. Is there a specific spot i should add the coolant, or should i just do it through the overflow tank? But more importantly, how do i purge the air from the system? some sort of a valve or ****?
i wouldnt put your **** anywhere near that engine if its overheating. you would probably get burned.
do you have a leak that you know about? have you done any work to your cooling system?
maybe your themostats not opening.

apparently the lower rad hose was leakin, and the hose clamp was loose, so it was leakin out of there too. i opened it up and there was 0 coolant in the radiator, just what was left in the block, but shes full now with new hoses.
(im sooo putting my **** in there)

I'll answer your question about purging the air from the system, which you may have problems with now that you filled the radiator. Park the truck with the front end up hill, remove the radiator cap, and let it sit and idle until the thermostat opens. Squeeze the upper radiator hose a few times to help push the air out. You will see the air bubbles escaping out the radiator opening. Let the truck run until you see no more air bubbles escaping. Keep an eye on the level in the reservior and the radiator for the next few days.
