Default no heat!!

i live in missouri and it is freakin cold. the bearing were going out in my fan clutch, repalced it today, truck still will not warm up over 155-165 degrees, i turn the heater on and warm air comes out at first but turns cold after maybe 45 seconds if that, think i need a new thermostat or could my heatercore be bad ? i do not think heater core is leaking. guy at shop said it would fog up my window or somthing. any suggestions short of getting power inverter and space heater?

i dont think it uses more gas just more electric being as the heat is a byproduct of the engine and all it needs is the fan to blow the heat in the cab using the heater core.
