Misadjusted brakes is always possible. Drum could have warped enough to create a hard spot, which helps makes easier to lock the wheels. What was the year, model, etc. rear wheel / 4 wheel anti?...etc.
Thanks.
Thanks.
its a 97 dodge ram 1500 but when i took out todrive today its fine. the only thing i can think of is the brakes got to hot? i had to use the brakes a ton on the way down could that cause it?
Just for future reference. I think the worst thing for brakes is to ride them for a long time like when you are going down a really long hill. When I drove up Pike's Peak a few years ago they had check points on the way back down where they would check to see if your brakes were getting hot. If they were too hot, they would make you wait till they cool and give you some advise on how to prevent further problems.
The best way to limit your speed going down a long hill is to shift to a lower gear and let the engine slow you down. As long as you don't overrev the engine you will not do damage to it and you will extend the life of you brakes.
