Default Upgrades Complete - Immediate Gains

I had to let you all know how much of a gain i got from the basic three upgrades.

I had a Magnaflow Exhaust installed Dual Out - 1.5 hr - $350.00 - Uvalde Muffler (Houston, TX)
I installed a K&N FIPK Gen II - 45 min - $227.00 w/sh - Ebay (ReplacementAutoParts)
I ran the Hypertech 50006 - 10min - $185.00 - Ebay

All installed problem free. No pinging after hypertech.

I noticed 200-400 rpm decrease which will translate to better mpg. Can feel the truck accelerate a lot smoother.
I am loving it..

Also just changed oil with Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic about 500 miles ago.

Other maintenance things will be new Spark Plugs and Wires. Will need new serpentine belt here pretty soon.

Thats wierd, how are the RPM lower? The Hypertech doesn't change shift points so thats just odd. I can't see that happening unless you physically changed the tire size or regeared.

Wierd [&:] Sounds sweet though, thats all stuff I want to do to my truck if I had the money ha! Well minus the Magnaflow, already have that and love the sound

Yeah, I'd like to know what you mean by "rpm decrease"?

When i got this truck it was completely stock

I took note of the trucks performance and it seem sluggish at acceleration and take off.
Also when i was at 65mph i took note of the RPM because it seemed a little high - between 2400-2500.

However, since i have changed to the Synthetic Oil, Magnaflow, K&N FIPK, and Hypertech accelleration and take off is no longer sluggish and is much smoother and the RPM is now at 21000 at 65mph.

Then engine was working harder ?

I too got the FIPK II in my 01 i got from ebay (same exact place you got yours) and either i was dumbfounded or just impatient but it took me longer then 45 minutes to install(more around a hour). But when you accelerate its got that sound like a whistling sound when you give it gas.Now i plan on going up in tire size and will the hypertech help change my speedodometer difference since i am going bigger in tire size?I do plan on changing exhaust soon will headers wake up this 318 i got more then if i went with a cat back?

thanks
pat
