Dude you should only be looking a cummins they are the only Diesels that has the most life-to overhaul, The Cummis has less moving parts, bigger connecting rods, bigger berrings so most of the time less problems Also if you plain to tune her up not too many PSD motors will stay together when they're over 500 HP. Many Cummins are at 600+ HP and staying together.

Check out www. turbodieselregister.com if you want more info. on the Cummins.

But then again maybe i just say that because my dad works for cummins and my friend own and drives the cummins turbo diesel draster.

just the big thing with dodge is their auto trannys.. especially with 500+ horsepower behind them.. yeah they can get to 500 hp quick and somewhat cheap.. but you need to factor in a rebuilt tranny to handle that power.. your looking at 2,000+ alone for that

I was going to post alot of information and make someone look bad, but decided not to.

Just a FYI, 500hp is ENTIRELY achievable in a 7.3L.

Kyle, it might be a little better to post "I'm looking for a diesel that meets all of these aspects..." and then list what you want. IE, CrewCab, Automatic, 4x4 etc... otherwise you'll end up with people that will be giving you information that you really don't need. Expect the answers to be biased, mainly because of the site you're on.

Hope this helps.

Its a bit of a ride for you but if you have someone in the area that can look at one of these for you the guy is pretty good with prices. Im always sending people over there and stop in from time to time. if you see something you like I will be in the area possiblly next weekend have to go to my friends exhaust shop up the street. I can get more pictures for you.

I'd look for a Cummins first, the one I drove I fell in love with right away. '03 3500 dually LOADED to the gills with the 6 speed. But a Chevy if not a Dodge, I kinda stay away from Fords though [&:]
