Default thermostat help

Hello all, love this forum!!

I have a couple questions: I have a stock 1997 Ram 5.2L 4x4. The temp runs between 200 to about 215. Is this a normal operating temp?? I'm going to replace the thermostat and I've read that 180 degree is good. Was looking at napa's website and they also list a 160?? Would this be better? What's the best one to put in my truck??

thanks alot

Jackson

The 160 will set the CEL, go with 180.
