Ok, if you paid $950 for your rear - if I double that and add the cost of the limited slip carrier plus a little more for install than that comes out about right. Damn, they are expensive as hell to install!

he pulled it up on the cimputer and front and rear it shows over $700 with the front being the most expensive because you have to take more stuff apart

moparrtguy- I definitely agree with you on how expensive the install is, but the gears are great. I love the off the line acceleration and it is so beneficial for towing. I heard that installing gears is complex and complicated, so make sure the mechanic is skilled and experienced with gears. Hopefully, you can find a good mechanic in your area that is affordable.

Not to jack the thread or anything but what would be a resonable charge to change out gears? I plan on changing to 4:56 so I talked to a local Cottman transmission shop and to change the front and rear gears with Yukon and put a Auburn limited slip carrier in the rear I was quoted $3000!!! I almost s#*t myself. Now I didnt have him break down parts vs labor but after some checking online the parts only come to $1000. So thats $2000 in labor???? even at $100 per hour (which is very generous) would it would take 20 hours for a professional to complete this job? I think he was trying to rip me off but I could be wrong.
first rule of drivetrain work, never go to cottman.

I am going to shop around more and compair prices before I make my decision. There are a couple of speciality differential shops in town here I also want to check out. IndyRamMan did you or somebody you know have a bad experiance at Cottman?
