exhaust help please
New to forum, need advice on a cat back exhaust. I have a 98 ram 1500. Shop advised a Flowmaster 40 or 50 series Deltaflow. I don't want it to be annoyingly loud but a nice rumble. I'm 50 but my son is 18 and want something to satisfy both. I'm not a motorhead and would appreciate some help. Thanks
40 or 50 sounds right, generally the with Flowmaster the lower the number the louder it is, I rear the 10 series is loud as sin.
I have a Magnaflow and LOVE it, its loud, but not to loud. Can't even tell its there on the highway or in city if I drive slow. I heard somebody else in my truck drive away from me, and WOW. I love the way it sounded when I was behind it.

I had a 50 for awhile, and it had a nice rumble from the outside, and was pretty mild inside. I switched to a 40 series, and it is louder inside. Both have a nice rumble, but the 40 sounds better when you get on the throttle. That is when the 50 kinda gets quiet.
I still have my 50 sitting in my garage if you want to try it out. It is 3" in/out, but can be necked up or down easily to meet your pipe sizes. It was on my truck for 18 months. I put it in the for sale awhile ago, but kinda forgot about it. It's posted here: https://dodgeforum.com/m_590831/tm.htm
