K&N FIPK Mistake?
if you've got bigger than stock tires you might not really feel any noticeable increase in performance, i didn't. although it seems like i am the only one who felt no gains from it, then again dyno charts show its made for high rpm ranges, which i am usually not in
I have to say that I am a little mechanically inclined as I do work in an auto shop part time, but I installed mine in about an hour (beer drinking time included). It is really simple to do.
We live in Northwest Florida near I-10 and love it here. I am trying to locate the parts referenced in the instructions and imagining taking them off or adjusting them as suggested and once I've pretended doing the entire job the real work will begin. I have gone thru the first few steps although the required tools have not yet been purchased, trying to find the right tools supplier. Thank you, my Ram purrs like a kitten moves like it is on clouds, smooth. I have to check to see what the required maintenance is fof 80,000 miles?
I think everyone is correct...although I ended up taking all the shielding off and putting one of those cheapy ebay stainless shields on. All that sheet metal was always in the way, and frankly, I can't tell any performance difference.
You will definetly get a boost by going to a larger filter element. I got a Spectre one from Pep Boys, noticed more power than with the FIPK install alone. Hopefully you got a newer kit with the thicker tube (it'll still crack I bet) OOOOPS...did I let that out?
