Default tranny quest.

if i put my foot to the floor at hiway speeds the trans will shift down out of o/d rap up to about 3500 then rev real high like it tried to downshift again or its slipping. the trans has been beefed up only about 8 months ago. my father in law has an 01 ram as well only his is a 2500 but his does it as well. is this just a dodge thing?

What gears are you running with those 37s? Could be working the engine to hard and its causing it to freak out.

Hey - I had my trans done, and when i got on it, it did that. It would shift, than shift again, but seem like it was slipping out of gear. However, one day i stayed on it, and noticed it wasn't slipping, just shifting up to the next gear revving to high. It was probably 500-800 rpms away from redline. I took it back, and they just had to make an adjustment. No big deal.

jisthangin01 did they say what adjustment needed to be made. when i talk to the trans shop they want to take it out and test drive it (costing about $50) to tell me whats wrong. the shop that built my trans is about 200 mi. away so i don't want to make that trip for a little adjustment. if i knew what adjustment needed to be made i could do it or tell them what it was. thanks

Off the top of my head, the only adjustment I can think of that will help is the TV cable adjustment.
