Well, IMO...I'd like to say its better than nothing. But...I'd be wrong. Most Mopar posis have a very low torque release rating, meaning they disingage rather quickly. Save your 150 bucks and put it toward a better posi like an Auburn or...well anything but a factory unit, especially a used one.
It will fit your truck, and any any gear ratio up to 4:56

 

I paid $125 for mine that was removed from a smashed 06 Dodge Ram. dsertdog56 is right they have a low torque release but I use my truck for towing and daily driving. I am very happy with this over the stock open rear.

Just last week I had the rear end in the air and noticed the low torque release. What I find interesting is I have done some insance posi shots with my truck. A few weeks back I ran it all the way through first gear, pulled for or 5 360's without a problem. It never released once. There is a solid posi mark going up and down the road.

Maybe I am wrong but I thought all SS/T's came with a posi. Did you check your build sheet under the hood if its still there?

 

the ss/t's maybe, but I know atleast for the indy trucks it was an option, it says nothing about the posi under the hood, nor on the complete options sheet i got printed from the dealer.

 

Interesting. My buddy had a 96 Indy ram that had posi from the factory so I guess it was an option on all and not standard equipment.

 

yea, its an option for the indy. the sst may be standard though. Its funny, I have most options besides posi; I wonder why it was ordered like that.
