Exhaust "Y" pipe

you need an H pipe to connect the exhause together, otherwise its like running two 4 cylinder engines in your truck instead of one 8 cylinder. the H pipe or x pipe makes both sides of your engine run right instead if fighting eachother.

you dont connect true dual at all.. from each header you run it straight back.

Yes, you want an H or X pipe to balance the system, not a Y tho if ya want duals. X and H are essentially the same thing, just a way to connect the 2 sides of the exhaust, gives better power, and better sound. Maybe do a little research into exhaust systems so ya get a better idea of what ya want

so the H pipe is required or no?

h pipe is 2 cats(if desired/required) and 2 mufflers(if required/desired) boss. why would you have 2 cats and 1 muffler? H pipe just has a connecting pipe to balance out pressure.

like the mustang guys know what they are talking about. id sooner take true dual exhaust advice from a honda forum (if you dont get the humor, you shouldnt think of posting technical advice)
Not required...but you should call yourself dumb if you dont. Ballance the exhaust pressures. H pipe works well on pushrod small blocks that dont require ample "backpressure" (as it is so often refered to) X pipes seem to be good for OHC setups for some reason that I do not pretend to understand. I do know this, X pipes sound good on small smallblocks to reduce wrasp. ( I ran a double X setup on my lincoln (DOHC 4.6))
I have nothing against the Mustang folks ... except they don't drive a Dodge. But if I were to base my personal appreciations on that alone ... I'd be quite the hater. That's just not me.
Come on, now ... they guy's name is "Professor Wizard" ... think about it ... he's a professor ... AND a wizard! How can you possibly go wrong?

either one will work the X or H pipe. Because you should balance out the two banks of cylinders that way they don't fight each other with back pressure.

yeah well me and my frined are putting it on and since the left side header comes over to the right side, then they go back, both connect into the cat then come out at 1 pipe. then after that they split into two. I just needed the other y pipe to cut up to curve it back and i am going to use an H pipe with two SLP mufflers
